Connecting with Readers and Clients

If I have learned one thing as an author and business owner, it is that readers and clients want a connection with who they are supporting. The desire to connect was what helped me retain friendships with the members of the first CEO Peer Advisory Group I formed. Readers want the same connection with the authors they support. A few months ago, International Business Times published an article about me, likely providing more information about me than most people know; however, more insight can always be provided.

Expanding on My Background

While researching my next published article, the interviewer came across an interview I gave 10 years ago for the Veterans History Project. Being considered ‘history’ is very humbling, but as The Williams Brothers sang, ‘I’m Still Here.’ This interview covered my military service through when I helped write my first book. The interesting thing is that the interviewers identified themselves as representing the Midwest Writing Center, which I should have taken advantage of during the interview. I hope authors, aspiring or experienced, are willing to share a bit more about themselves to help further connect with readers and clients. It may provide them with a better appreciation for who you are.
