Peer-to-Peer Mentoring
A great friend of mine once said,
“Friends are better than money.”
I found this sage comment to be true. You can always make money, but how often do you make devoted friends?
Because I value learning, I seek people who can help me improve as a person, which qualifies them as a mentor. This then begs the question,
“Who’s in your posse?”
For effective peer-to-peer mentoring, you must consider who you hang out with.
This short vlog outlines what I look for in a peer mentoring relationship.
Do not sell your friends short.
At a minimum, mentoring is a developmental relationship that involves the sharing of experiences based on trust and respect. Although we may trust and respect our friends, we cannot possibly know all their experiences or which ones might help us.
Do you need help and do not know where to look? The answer may be as close as checking out your friends.
Which of your friends is also your mentor, and vice versa?
