Trauma is defined as “a deeply disturbing event or series of events.” Your socioeconomic status will not save you from trauma. Education will not allow you to outsmart trauma. Your religiosity will not shield you from trauma. Simply put, you cannot buy, think, or pray your way out of trauma. Trauma requires trauma healing.
