Military Service: The Ultimate Opportunity

“Opportunities Have Expiration Dates.”

I am reminded how fleeting opportunities are every time I hear someone say,

“I wish I had joined the military, or I wish I had served.”

Service to the country can come in many forms, but the military is so unique because,

It is the 1% protecting the other 99%.

Although military service is fraught with sacrifice, it is not one continuous sacrifice but is replete with wonderful opportunities. My Opinion article, published in the International Business Times, highlights the benefits the military offers its service members. As Veterans Day approaches, we should remember not only the dedication but also the advantages our veterans bring to our corporations, their communities, and society.
