MyWingman, LLC: The Wingman for Every CEO

” It’s lonely at the top, but it does not need to be.”

I am honored to share some thoughts in CEO Weekly on navigating the tough jobs of leadership and the CEO. No matter how well prepared you are to become a CEO, the education may not exactly align with the experience. That is why “everyone needs a wingman.” In my second and likely my most important CEO position, I did not have the benefit of a wingman. I believe this was because of the Curse of Competency: ‘Everyone thought that I already knew it all.’

As confident as a person might be, once in the position of CEO, there is no trial period. New CEOs do not receive a ‘grace period,’ there are no shortcuts, and no CEO checklist . It seems as if everything comes at you fast, furious, and all at once.

That’s why everyone needs a wingman, especially CEOs.

I hope that the few thoughts I have shared might help someone reduce the loneliness at the top. And also find a wingman.
